Designed with today's smart shoppers in mind, Samsung is looking to establish a firmer hand in the smartphone market with a more affordable option. College students and young adults make up the fulcrum of the social networking phenomenon sweeping the nation, but until now were less able to afford the sleek smartphones they so craved. Not anymore. With the Samsung Wave 2, these frugal shoppers can finally afford the phone they need to network, with just a few features compromised from the original Samsung Wave.

Tired of the time and frustration of pecking long messages on full keyboards that can not keep up with all you have got to say? The Samsung Wave 2 takes the full QWERTY keyboard one step further, by combining the feature with predictive text. No more tedious typing. And how you view your messages and images can now be controlled with a twist of the wrist with the Wave 2's accelerometer that automatically rotates the screen from landscape to portrait. Navigating your way through the phone's many features also becomes second-nature with the TouchWiz 3.0 UI.

The Samsung Wave 2 can do much more than send messages or receive phone calls though. The 3-megapixel camera can take snaps, record in SD video and even let you edit your images with a few personal touches. Enjoy your favorite music or video with the mp4 playback capability as well. Similar to Motorola's Motoblur, Sony Ericsson's Timescape, and HTC's Friend Stream, Samsung has a social networking tool titled Social Hub. It allows the user to organize a contact's information - including basic information, email accounts, social networking accounts, and more. It makes keeping up with friends and associates a breeze, because all of the information is in one place. The user no longer has to check and update each separate account (Twitter, Facebook, etc.) to stay in touch with his/her various contacts.

Another popular Samsung feature is the 3.2" 240×400 TFT LCD touch screen. With its 256,000 color capacity and relatively large screen, the Wave 2 is a great way to enjoy video clips or share pictures.
